•                              Wrestling is one of the oldest competitive sports in existence, dating all the way back to the ancient Greek civilization days. Practitioners from all over the globe compete in this ultimate sport of will, toughness, and technique. The sport relies upon mental strength and courage, as there is a high chance of injury. However, this sport is related to the precision of physics to a great degree, more so than the general public knows of. To the naked eye, it initially seems as though this sport is solely about fortitude, but after analytical observation, one starts to see the presence of decisive physics.  In this chapter we will be talking about newtons laws, and how it relates to wrestling in different ways.
Newton’s first Law of Motion. It states that “an object continues in its state of rest, or of uniform straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it. A wrestler is in the initial state of rest until the opponent makes a move and attacks” http://djphillipfromgalt.hot1035radio.com/images/2013/02/Olympic-Wrestling.bmp

Stance is very important in this particular sport. A good stance would be having your feet shoulder width apart and knees at a 45 degree angle.

This is an example of how a wrestling match is like.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVCegcfWXp8
